Tour Weekly will follow the clubs and ball from Sunday’s winning putt to the price golfers can actually pay. No generic recap. No pretending every new driver, or every tour ball, belongs in your bag.

    What won?

    After every event with an individual winner: the PGA TOUR or LPGA champion, and the gear that held up down the stretch. Team weeks, like the Solheim Cup, get a team-gear note instead of a single bag.

    What was in the bag?

    Driver through putter, plus the ball, each matched to the retail model where one exists, and each item sourced. When the reporting is thin, we mark an item unconfirmed rather than guess.

  3. 03

    What’s the play?

    We’ll show the best price among the retailers we track for each exact build and condition, keep trade-in values separate from purchase prices, and tell you whether to buy or wait. If last year’s head is $180 cheaper and you’d never feel the difference, you’ll hear it from us first.

Every golfer’s bag

Women’s gear gets the full-bag treatment.

Women and girls made up 28% of U.S. on-course golfers in 2025, more than 8.1 million players, and accounted for 52% of the net growth in on-course golf from 2020 through 2025, according to the National Golf Foundation’s report on the rise of female golf.

Women’s-specific models get their own pages. Women’s builds of unisex clubs are full variants, with flex, length, loft and weight shown up front, not buried behind a men’s stock default. Complete sets and low-compression balls will get the same price history and the same straight calls. Compression and flex are fit choices, not gender shortcuts: if you swing it fast, a firmer shaft profile or a tour ball may fit you better.

The used and trade-in markets for women’s clubs are thinner. Each market summary will show how many matching listings support it, and when the sample is too small to call a winner, we’ll say so.

Low Alert

When a price hits a genuine low, we’ll flag it.

Once prices are live, most drops won’t make the cut. A Low Alert needs all of these:

  • an in-stock exact build and condition, with known shipping
  • at least 30 days of our own price history
  • a price at or below its tracked low
  • a price at least 15% under its usual (median) price

We call it a 90-day low only with 60 daily prices in the last 90 days; shorter histories say “lowest since we started tracking.” Every alert is confirmed through the partner’s feed or API within the hour, and member-only or coupon prices never set one off. The comparison is our own price history, never a made-up “was” price.

Tour Weekly is independent. We’re not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the PGA TOUR, the PGA of America or the LPGA, and we use “PGA TOUR” and “LPGA” only to say which tours we cover. When prices arrive, every one will show when it was last checked, and “best” will always mean best among the retailers we track.

The house rule

If the old club is the smarter buy, we’ll say so. If a less expensive ball, or a low-compression one, fits your swing, that gets the nod too. Golf is hard enough without paying tour money for the wrong gear.
